Linear Friction Welding machine
Pratt & Whitney's technology leadership goes beyond its products and extends into its manufacturing processes. As an example, the company recently installed a one-of-a-kind linear friction-welding machine within its Compression Systems Module Center based in Middletown, Connecticut. The machine more than doubles Pratt & Whiteny's capacity to do friction welding of critical components for the F135 and Geared Turbo Fan family of engines. View Larger
